All About Liquid Core Dice Sets
Every year has been an adventure, but 2023 was an especially exciting time at Dark Elf Dice. We had previously launched two successful Kickstarters for absolutely gorgeous metal d20s, but for our third campaign we wanted to create something completely different. Hence, our custom liquid core dice were born -- what we called our "Magic Potion" dice sets.
Liquid core dice are truly unique, and I dare say, a challenge to make. Each die is has a liquid center filled with a suspension of vibrant glitter. When the dice are shaken and rolled, the glitter swirls and sparkles like a mini snow globe. The dazzling, colorful effect of liquid core dice rolling across the table is mesmerizing!
After several prototypes, we finally settled on the size, shape, and colors that we felt best represented what we wanted to bring to the gaming community -- fun, affordable dice that looked good, played well, and could be cherished for years to come.
If you're unfamiliar with liquid core dice you're in for a treat :) We not only have the Magic Potion dice, but awesome d20s for your special rolls-to-hit and ability checks. Take a look around and please let me know if you have any questions. I'm always here to help :)

Liquid Core Dice FAQ
What are liquid core dice?
Liquid core dice are expertly crafted dice with a liquid center. Typically these dice have a suspension of glitter that catch the light in a mesmerizing way when shaken or rolled. As well as glitter, liquid core dice can also have inclusions that float within each die (floating eyes are popular!).
How are liquid core dice made?
Liquid core dice are made from durable resin (usually clear in color, but sometimes lightly tinted). Typically, the dice are sized larger than standard game dice, because each die holds a hollow, inner sphere filled with liquid and glitter. Once the injection process is complete, the sphere is heat-sealed shut to prevent leakage.
Why do liquid core dice have an air bubble?
As a necessary part of the manufacturing process, liquid core dice have an air bubble in the inner sphere. Without the air bubble, the liquid and glitter couldn't mix when shaken and rolled.
Are liquid core dice balanced and fair?
Yes, liquid core dice are balanced and fair and will generate random dice rolls for casual games of Dungeons and Dragons and other tabletop roleplaying games. The dice are designed with lines of symmetry and the liquid/glitter mix results in a dense, center mass that won't adversely affect the outcome of a roll any more than dice made of traditional materials.
Are liquid core dice expensive?
Due to the manufacturing process, liquid core dice are more expensive than traditional resin or acrylic dice, but as a general rule they are affordable. Costs can vary, but they are typically priced on par with other mid-range dice such as metal sets.
