The History of P3 Paint
Originally developed in 2006 by industry pioneer, Mike McVey, Formula P3 paints were a hit with miniature painters looking for paints that covered well and were easy to blend. P3 was manufactured by Privateer Press, and Dark Elf Dice was excited to carry the complete product line for our customers. That said, in recent years it became increasingly difficult to keep the paint in stock, as Privateer Press eventually stopped production...
Fast forward to 2025! Steamforged Games bought out Privateer Press and reinvigorated the P3 product line. Not only did the company restart production, they improved the original formula to make P3 better than ever:
- More pigments
- New colors
- Creamier consistency
- Replaced the paint pots with dropper bottles
- Pre-loaded the dropper bottles with a mixing ball
The new and improved P3 paint still blends like a champ and has a gorgeous satin finish.
